Catch of the day in Tigre

Sunday 8 January. Today a small day trip. The people of Buenos Aires like to go to the delta of the river Uruguay and particular to Tigre. So we too. It’s a short walk to the train station and for just 6 $, the Argentinian dollar, so around 35 eurocent, the train brings us to Tigre. It’s a small city and we have to take the boat trip into the delta. Just outside the city several sunken boats along the shore. Interesting. A birds comes up with the catch of the day, a quite big fish. We take a turn and go more into nature. Well… the houses into this nature park. Nice houses and lots of boats and kayaks. Some ‘fishermen’ try to catch a fish and children are swimming in the river. In Parque Lyfe everyone seems to relax and then, on the shore, we see a wooden house in a greenhouse. Bit strange, but it’s part of Museo Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.

Back in the harbour a visit to the fruit harbour. No fruit, but a lot of stuff. Especially wooden furniture and restaurants. A theme park makes the city complete. We skip it. Some big fancy buildings, one looks like a church, appear to be rowing club houses. Amazing.

Back to base and relax for a while and look for a nice restaurant. Should be a little piece of meat. Yesterday was a crazy big steak and so good.
